And I said, Perfect. I’ll give you money. And he said, I love money. And he said, I do too. But more, so I like being warm. And he said, Haha, then this is a match made in heaven. And I was just like, Ah, I don’t know if that’s, I don’t care. I’m not gonna get into any kind of, you know, weird, confusing argument about not an argument, you know, but a conversation are there. And so, the day came, and he didn’t show never showed up. I email I sent I sent a text message because he had given me his phone number. And I said, Hi, I’m here. Just excited for you to come and do your thing. And he was just like, Oh, snap. got busy. couldn’t come. So sorry. And I was like, Okay, no problem. Because here’s the thing. If you’re dealing with someone, and they’re they’re doing work for you, or they’re helping you out, it doesn’t help anyone to be like, grumble, grumble, angry growl. No, no, what you got to do you got to be like, ah, that’s okay. Until it’s not okay. I mean, like, if, if someone was meeting me, and let’s say, I had lost one of my toes, and they were like, I’ve got an extra toe. And I was I’d be like, Oh, well, that’s just convenient. And then they would say, meet me at this place at this time. And, you know, bring a tow holder. I would say of course, if I’m going to pick up a tow I know I know the drill. I’m going to need to bring a tow holder and I showed up and they didn’t they weren’t there then I might be a little bit more miffed a little bit more angry because here’s the thing. Without my without, you know, I might fall over. My socks are gonna fit strangely. Knock. I’m not gonna be able to walk around I tend to prance I’m not gonna be able to prance with that toe gone so I’m gonna need I’m gonna need I’m gonna need that guy to show up but this this guy, I mean, I need him to show up too because I’m looking around and it’s it’s a it’s a shambles in here. Because it’s you know, you got everything moved to the side for the construction and and I and I did as much as I could. I was crawling around in the rafters putting insulation up. But now I need any other people to come and finish the job. Until then, I’m just going to be cold. Which is you know, it’s my lot in life. I live in the the Northeast, where it’s cold during the winter. It’s been cold in the south to now I mean, we’re not going to talk about a weather necessarily. I feel like there’s a lot of stuff right now that’s happening. That is not I can’t feel my thumbs. Okay, I didn’t even know I had dumbs being a pig you understand? But I can’t if I am looking at my little hope. And I don’t seem to have Natty Bumpercar 6:19 Yeah, no, it’s I mean I agree it’s it’s it’s obscene Lee cold out here. And I That’s great work on the blankets. I think that’ll work out well, because we have a few little heaters out here. And they don’t seem to do anything. Like I’m standing a foot and a half away from a heater. And it’s on I can see a little red light. I can see stuff moving but it’s not doing anything at all. So it’s just kind of blowing cold air at me which is no no no what I need it and I can I do the joke. What? Yeah, sure. You know the joke. Which one? I don’t know. I’m trying to think of what other oh, here’s a really cool thing that I completely forgot about. So there’s a town next to the town that I live in. And they have, they’re starting something. It’s called Radio Free Montclair. And that’s the name of the town Montclair. And I’ve been talking to them and working with them a little bit to figure out how we can help them out and how maybe we can start putting shows like this show on their on their platform? Aloysius J. Pig 8:07 I don’t know. So it’s a new thing. And they want to put this on there. So they must be pretty desperate if they I mean, like, like, we don’t have anything at all. And we, if nothing else, we certainly make content all the time. Not. We’re supposed to be a weekly show. And I don’t know what’s what’s happening with that the calendar has become very confused, I think because I really lost track of days. Like, there’s days where there’s so long that I wake up and I feel like it’s one day. And then halfway through the day, I feel like it’s another day and then by the night, I’m just like, I don’t know what time it is. Like, I just I don’t know. And so we need to figure out doing this show weekly. Because that’s important, right? Yeah. And then there’s where’s it cuz there’s another thing that we’re working on too. Natty Bumpercar: what's going on bumper podcast it is me i am me you are you and we are we and it is the bumper podcast and we're hanging out living large in charge how are you i'm excited i know you didn't ask yet because i just asked you but i'm excited i just want you to know that has anyone ever done that to you like they come up and in their eyes you see there's a lot of movement there's a lot of something and they say uh they ask you a question hey how's it going and and but they don't really care how it's going hey how's it going me i'm great they're just kind of like they just want to ask you how things are going so that they can then talk about themselves i feel like i just did that to you and i apologize how are you good that's that's what i wanted to hear that's what i wanted to know that's what i wanted to see um so me why am i good uh i have cleaned my desk studio area to the point where i can actually have my computer here i can have my uh devices all this stuff is all set up i haven't had it like this in like years so i'm sitting in my little chair and i'm talking into my microphone my i have my hands they're like i'm holding my hands in front of me like very professionally i feel like and um how weird that's well that's certainly new uh come on in come on

Natty Bumpercar: we have newfangled stuff yeah i noticed that there's a lock on the door now and i had to actually uh ring a doorbell and then you had to buzz me in like what it's like security stuff going on yeah i don't understand well i was doing a lot of cleaning and um because of that other show isn't it no yeah it's that other show no you're doing that show no no no yep yep yep yep yep i know it is listen everybody uh i don't know if i should be the one to tell you but uh we've been doing a show every single day monday through friday we didn't do a show last friday yes exactly producer thanks for jumping in well it's because
Producer: i there was a mess up with the audio and everybody i just wanted you to know that i felt so terrible about it and my normal focus is on the bumper podcast which is all audio all the time these other shows yeah stop yeah stop okay thank you okay uh yeah so we didn't have a show friday but
Natty Bumpercar: that that doesn't that's not what we're talking about we're gonna we're gonna move forward we're not gonna look in the past at the problems we're gonna learn from our mistakes and we're gonna keep on rocking and keep on rolling anyway this show is called hanging out with pig i am of course pig aloe wishes j pig and um yeah we do it every day and it's like uh it's it's live streamed because we live in the future now and we uh we've been adding stuff to the show every week we uh we got we got this uh cow named melissa we got um the producer he was on there the other day um this dude professor penguin he's on there reading books and whatnot um and uh there's one other i can't there's a few other there's a lot there's a lot of people did you just hit the microphone yeah i did hit the mic because i'm not used to this the microphone now it's weird yeah being on a live show now you wouldn't understand because you're not on it but okay well it's true so pig has his own show every single day of the week it happens at around uh 12 o'clock eastern time and it's uh live streamed on facebook and youtube and it's a live streamed on facebook and youtube and it's a live streamed on facebook and periscope which is twitter and it's about 20 25 minutes long and it's it's got so much stuff like there's there's an art segment there's um a reading segment there's a little exercise segment there's songs it's it's i gotta say i'm pretty impressed with what pig has done uh putting this
Producer: all together i actually have done a lot of these work on putting it together as well i do behind the scenes of course but you know um without producing there would not be a much of a show uh turn his microphone off i actually control the microphones oh look who's got his big britches on today i'm actually a frog and i don't wear britches but i think i get the point that you're
Natty Bumpercar: saying yeah so it's super cool and uh it's it's all obviously kid friendly just the same way this show is it's all kid friendly and um but it's living currently at a place on facebook called coffee can alley because that's where everything we do lives and we finally grabbed that page and we put uh the hanging out with pig uh videos on there we put this the bumper podcast on there and um you know we're trying to make a lot of bunch of other stuff too just to occupy people i know there's a lot of people making a lot of stuff right now but cool that's all the better for you the people who like stuff am i right of course i'm right yeah so uh i was trying to like poke fun at you earlier to see you know to be like i always just funny on his show of course but i uh oh oh oh is that the doorbell yep yep that's what it sounds like yeah that's the doorbell that's what it sounds like whoa i've never had you're the first one who rang it this is the first person who has now uh rang the doorbell twice so that's uh pretty uh crazy jeez all right hold on uh hey uh come on in oh where's it gonna be we gotta work on that creek it's very loud hey what's going on trunks hi everybody it's me trunks hey trunks i like to do the weather report okay so what i do on the weather report we get it i do the weather report with trunks so this is the first bit of cross-pollinization between um hanging out with pig in the bumper podcast so your name is trunks right and you are an elephant right boo i give the weather report every day on the hanging out with pig and we talk about weather the other day we talked about people's favorite weather and somebody liked winter and somebody liked spring and a couple of people even liked summer
Producer: i don't know if anyone liked fall though i actually enjoy the fall quite a bit it's very good and it's moist outside and so it's good for my my frog skin sorry you didn't no i know no one asked me but yeah nobody feel like i should check in okay and give a vote yeah it's very important

Natty Bumpercar: right oh no we never planned this at all okay um so trunks i have to ask because i have listened and watched the uh hanging out with pig a few times and uh i've noticed you seem a little sad you seem a little bit down i'm should i be worried about you i don't want anybody to be upset no no it's just how i feel and who i am i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i am and i am me and we are we it's just a new uh are we are we kind of soft selling the new uh hit summer jam for this summer i am i and me on me i forgot how it goes and we are we how did i not remember he just said it i think i think it's like uh you are you and i am me and we are the way that we're supposed to be you see that's a really nice flow you got there speaking of uh uh rain flow did you know that um rain is actually measured in in in inches so you see rain falling from the sky and actually we're not gonna do a weather report right now okay yeah that makes sense that's for the other show okay i was getting a little excited there yeah i appreciate that and i'm glad that you're showing a your range a whole other side of you trunks but uh yeah we're gonna say we're gonna save that uh the weather talk for other places obviously cool um thank you for that uh pig so yeah wow so hanging out with big i mean this feels like it's been a big commercial but it's not um we talked about cleaning have you been cleaning your house i found so much stuff that i didn't even know existed anymore stuff that i thought was lost or thrown away we had a big flood a few years ago and i'm actually now finding stuff for the weather talk for the weather talk for the weather talk for the weather talk for the weather from the big flood that wasn't damaged which is pretty exciting i found uh notebooks full of stuff uh all kinds of sketchbooks i found canvases that don't have anything on them that i can paint now oh my goodness gracious it's it's so that's been kind of wonderful um what i like to do is i go a big clean and then i organize and then i can see everything and then uh when i'm looking at everything then i can start cleaning it all over again that makes sense i'm assuming which is mean like i'm guessing that it's going to take me like three passes so three times of going through everything to actually get it to where i want to get it but i mean we've lived in this house for uh five years almost six years and these are things that like i've been wanting to do since we moved in i put all of my baseball cards and comic books up in the attic gone i took everything out of the garage and i built some shelves and i gathered up all my paintings and i put them all right there done um like what else have we done we moved a giant set of shelves from one side of the room in the basement to the other and we we got rid of uh 14 rubbermaid boxes like those big boxes that are full of stuff gone and we're recycling stuff uh we're shredding stuff we're we have a two big boxes of stuff to donate so i mean it's it's been it feels great ah it feels like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders yay and there's still so much to do which is also pretty exciting um so anyway what i would suggest is if you're feeling kind of gloomy if you're feeling kind of glum go into your room and dig around some to go under your bed dig into your closet and do something about it if you're feeling kind of gloomy if you're feeling kind of gloomy do a little bit of cleaning who knows what you'll find you might find an old toy that you didn't even remember that you had you might find um some old clothes that you'll look at you'll be like oh i remember these clothes these make me happy there's just a lot there's a lot to do is what i'm saying um so go try to do that go try to do that for yourself and i think that you will be happy in the meantime from a commercial standpoint do go look at coffee can alley on facebook if you feel like it do go look for the hanging out with pig videos because they're a treat i'm so proud of them and my kids are helping me make them and that's super thrilling and uh they really keep me on my toes which is also great so do that have fun wash your hands stay away from people you're awesome high five oh i didn't know he was gonna talk this much he goes on and on and on yeah non-stop yeah it's just like sometimes i'm like put the brakes on exactly trunks egg exactly

Natty Bumpercar: all right mental note to everyone who's starting a podcast uh from someone who's been doing it for a long long time and should know better do not record an episode uh about how sad you are and then inadvertently take three months three months three weeks off uh don't take three months off either because that's longer than three weeks because uh then people are gonna worry about you which is nice and they reach out and they want to see are you okay which is so sweet and i appreciate that and i am uh i've been so busy you guys and uh and and i'm not sad anymore i don't think maybe i'm a little bit sad but i'm not i'm much better and i think part of that has to do with spring considering happening uh it hasn't happened yet uh uh last weekend was easter sunday easter bunny came and uh and it was a gorgeous day beautiful day kids running around outside the next day six inches of snow what and then the next day after that fog fog so thick you couldn't see your hand in front of your face uh and then last night last night was the windiest night ever it's so we're living in uh some sort of crazy uh weather world where people just spin a wheel and it's just like oh now you're in a desert that's not weather is it you know uh but i gotta tell you a story here's a funny story speaking of easter we uh last week we had we was on a thursday the thursday before easter and you know every morning i let irving brown socks our uh resident border collie black lab i opened the back door there's a fenced in yard and i let him go out into the yard to do whatever he's gonna do i don't ask him what he does he just goes out there and does stuff and uh but when i opened the door i heard a commotion down on the edge of the of the deck and uh we have a groundhog who lives under our deck i don't know if it's the groundhog i don't know if he sees his shadow he's uh not very receptive to me trying to form a relationship with him a friendship uh but i definitely did not want the dog to go out because that is a kerfuffle that i did not feel like dealing with at that time so i grabbed the dog i said go back inside and i went to check to see what was going on what was the hubbub what was the commotion and i get to the edge of the deck and i look and it was not the groundhog in our soccer net we have like a one of those little soccer nets for the kids uh there was there was a bunny rabbit there was a giant i mean like he was really big too like he was all stretched out and end of tips of toes to tips of toes uh you know ears to nose everything he was probably like 14 inches like it was a pig it was big it was kind of intimidating large but he had gotten caught in this in the soccer net i guess his big idea was i'm gonna run through i'm gonna run through that net and it did not work out for him and uh so i was like oh no oh no oh no oh no okay trapped bunny so i went back inside and i was like hey guys we caught the easter bunny we got we got the easter bunny we got the easter bunny come check out he and they were like what because there has been some you know talk around around the house that oh easter bunny's not real easter bunny's nah easter bunny's not real and i'm like bro easter bunny's real and he's like easter bunny's not real i'm like you wrote him a letter asking for certain things he's real and uh and he's like so and so at school says he's not real says he's a fake and i was just like why are you gonna listen to that kid listen to me which is probably setting up you know some horrible thing in the future because there's a bunny trail there's a peter cottontail you know easter baskets how else am i getting easter baskets in my house i ask you uh anyway so i grabbed the kids we went outside they check out they were like oh my god it's easter bunny and i was like listen i don't know if that's the actual easter bunny or if he's just like a friend of the easter bunny if he's like uh if he's spying on us if he's taking notes to take back to the easter bunny and they were just like so i was like all right life lesson here's how we save this animal i went inside and i got some gloves and i got a towel and i got some scissors and uh so i go out and you know you you're gentle you'd calm you go up to the bunny and i put the towel over his head and i was kind of uh with my let me think left hand i just held him down right right there at his neck uh kind of on his head gentle little hold down and the right hand i had the scissors and i start to uh gently cut the net in between him and the net so that he can escape now while i'm doing this one of my children uh was like i'm so sorry easter bunny i'm so sorry and the other kid at the same time was screaming out he was just like so i want uh lego i want minecraft you know i want a big chocolate bunny and like he's just listing all the stuff that he wants to this poor rabbit and uh the rabbit he escapes he gets out he runs away and i was just like bro maybe you should have asked him for a new soccer net because this one is now trashed and he was just like oh good point good point uh uh so then we had easter easter bunny saved i'm a hero uh easter bunny saved and then uh then you know we had easter i just said that wow but we had 18 people at our house and i was like oh my god i'm so sorry i'm so sorry i'm so sorry i'm so sorry i'm so sorry i'm so sorry i don't know if i think i've talked about it i've been building a bathroom in my house like there's a room it's it's their toy room it's like the back room of the house and it used to be i think it might it used to be a uh a porch and they turned it into a closed-in room and that's where the toy room but i carved out a little bit of that and i and i had to build two walls i had to close up a wall on the window on the wall and all sorts of stuff but and i built a bathroom and i had the the electricians in the summers do their stuff because i don't have any time to learn that or to figure out how to do code stuff but and i put in tile and uh put in a chair rail and wainscoting and wainscotting i don't know how to say that and even the people at home depot don't know how to say it which is interesting wainscotting wainscoting i don't know you don't know who cares then uh and you know uh put in a pocket door so it's a little door that goes inside the wall and i had to put in a neat little handle for that uh and so uh the goal i had it all finished not finished i had it all in there by the time easter came so we had an extra bathroom and i put a coat of primer on it so it's all white but now i have to go back in and do some finish work a little bit of caulking a little bit of spackling a little bit of sanding uh but then it's gonna be done and i've died and then it's done there's so much pressure off it that was one of the things so much pressure pressure pressure pressure um and i think what else i've been doing a lot of shows it's another reason i've been so tired because i've been doing so many shows which is awesome it's phenomenal it's great it makes me happy and then people are like you're doing so good at the shows and i'm like ah thanks i don't take compliments well i'm not good are you guys good at taking compliments if somebody's like hey bumper podcast kateer you're for not you're really good at listening to the bumper podcast do you think are you like ah i'm all right at it i don't know i try i mean i try to listen i i do i do a lot of things i do a lot of things i do a lot of things all right that's how i was at the shows i was like ah thanks i said words that's what i always say i said some words i said i said them in order some of them some of them i said too fast and they weren't in order and they didn't understand them that's fine um but route i've had rowdy crowds and i've done well with the rowdy crowds uh because i move quick here's something that i i don't know if i'm learning i'm trying to figure out what i'm learning uh but if you have structured jokes a structured joke is set up and then punchline so uh set up punchline uh uh why did the uh oh yeah why did the pony go to the doctor that's your setup why did the pony go to the doctor because he was a little horse that's your punchline it's it's terrible i get it but why did the pony go to the doctor because he was a little horse uh so those kind of jokes sometimes the crowd is rowdy they're they don't want to listen they're like we don't care about your your funny little story so what i end up doing is just like exploding on them and just like this thing oh that thing crazy thing and moving really fast and quick which sometimes you're not going to get sustained laughter you're not going to get it like all the way through but you're going to get like pockets of laughter and bursts of laughter uh they're like what is happening this is crazy this guy is crazy like that and uh but it's been working and then i can still dip into material if i need to and um it's fun i've had a lot of fun now the weird thing is is is that's how i used to do stand-up was just this tangential just hitting everything i could as quick as i could uh and then i was like oh my god i'm gonna do this and i used to not give any any room for laughs i figured out that uh they're since they're supposed to laugh that i i pause every so often and i do let them laugh and then and then i'll go into material but the thing is is that that's working at elks lodge and vfws in pennsylvania and new jersey and delaware and all these places over here uh but if you go into into the city it's a different animal entirely because they don't really care so much about i mean they want hey you got you know seven minutes four minutes whatever five seven uh and they want you to be like boom joke boom joke boom joke boom joke and they want you to prove that you can do that and then i think they maybe will take the uh reins off a little bit and let you play around a little bit but it's it's that hitting that sweet spot because for me i don't enjoy doing uh boom joke boom joke boom joke it doesn't work well with my brain it never has uh and so it's it's something i gotta kind of rectify and figure out but i'm having fun so i gotta keep doing it right doing a bumper podcast talking you guys i've been drawing flyers for comedy shows have you seen them i don't know how i don't know i'll figure out how to link to them but uh i've done like i don't know one seven maybe like eight or something at this point where people like hi they're like hey we're gonna give you money and you're going to draw things and i'm like yes you're gonna give me money and then i'm like all right cool and then they don't even they're just like they don't tell me what to draw they just let me draw anything and they put the flyer information on it and then it comes out you know something ridiculous like i had one there were these two comedians and there was a guy sitting on an eagle jousting another guy who was sitting on a kitten like it's how much fun is that it's great and then uh for the elk slot there was uh i drew an elk on this on stage telling a joke and then uh two elks at the table making fun of that elk and then the comedians i drew their little heads like mounted on the wall and it was so it's like this is what i this is this is what i want to do i just want to do more of it and i want to uh sleep sometimes too one of the children got up at 5 15 today not nice child not nice at all anyway bumper podcast i'm sorry i left you saying that i was sad i'm happier now Natty Bumpercar: hey guys it's my favorite day of the year do you want to know what day it is I'm gonna tell you what day it is because you're gonna be excited too because it's a weird day it's a cool day it's a fun day and we have a special guest to talk about his experience with the day today's Groundhog Day that's right I'm not even gonna bury the lead I'm not even gonna like try to like hold it out for any longer I just want you to know that you should be excited because it's Groundhog Day it's the day when we let a varmint come out of a hole and and tell us what the weather's gonna be it's a weird why how does this still happen it's amazing I love it in this world this weird world that we live in that there's still this weird and I'm just gonna keep saying weird because it's so weird uh thing that people do that I mean it's not really commercialized really I mean it feels like it should at now it should be like groundhog day brought to you by i don't know uh umbrellas there or something i don't know but you know or just like the groundhog should be wearing patches of different uh companies or something like that um but it's not it's not it's not it's people get dressed up in top hats and stuff like that and in giant coats and there's a stage and there's a uh a box essentially and they they reach into it's it's not really i can't imagine it's pleasant for the groundhog but we're gonna find out but they reach into the body they pull this poor animal out and they're like what does he see his shadow and how do they know if he sees his shadow right i've got peripheral vision so i can see somebody coming up to my side and and maybe my set my shadows over there but i'm out of the thing they put him down if he sees his shadow then that means there's six more weeks of winter and if he doesn't see his shadow that means that spring is only six weeks away i might have that completely backwards another question that i'm probably going to need to ask the groundhog but without further ado ladies and gentlemen i'm going to bring to you my friend your friend he's going to be everyone's friend here give it up for mr groundhog

Natty Bumpercar: were actually talking about the flu and man it is brutal this year i mean we're getting notices from school we're getting notices from daycare uh i know people who have it and it sounds like maybe the worst thing ever like oh i i haven't had it in a couple years knock on wood but uh man uh the aches the pains the chills it knocks you out for like a week uh and it went around my office last year and i luckily avoided it there too uh so i i highly recommend here's what i do i don't know if you want health tips from me but i basically i don't know if you want health tips from me but i basically i uh in the morning i get up i sit in the shower i turn the shower on and i just stay there all day and if anyone comes near me i spray uh spray them with uh disinfectant because i don't want i can't i can't deal with the flu i don't want the flu i have a uh a little low grade cold but that happens you know it's it's hot it's cold outside it's snowy but the flu no thank you
